DescriptionIn the frame of the EBSF (European Bus System of the Future) project, UITP and EBSF members are developing some actions about the introduction of electrification in the bus systems. Such action has started with the inclusion of electrification in the EBSF Roadmap produced for ERTRAC, action which has been welcomed by the European Commission. Recently, UITP and VDV have commissioned a study about “Electrified Public Transport Bus Systems”, performed by Prof. Dr. Ralph Pütz, Fachgebiet Nutzfahrzeugtechnik, Hochschule Landshut.
We would like to invite you at the presentation of the results of this study to the relevant Bus System stakeholders, on the 2nd April 2012 from 11am to 2pm in Brussels.
The “Electrified Public Transport Bus Systems” study is organised in the following tasks:
· Analysis of potential of electromobility in public transport bus systems
· Requirements for fully electrified public transport bus systems and analysis of technological options
The study is completed with some recommendations for potential demonstration scenarios to be run in the period mid 2013 – mid 2016, in view of a possible next Call from the European Commission.
On this regard, after the presentation of the study, the UITP Strategy for EC funded Electrified Bus System Calls will be presented.
