DescriptionTransport and Mobility
As part of the 3rd international conference i-SUP2012 (Innovation for Sustainable Production), held in Bruges from May 6-9, 2012, this congress aims to discuss the challenge our transport system: ensuring high quality mobility of goods and people and reducing its negative impacts on people, planet and profit. The unique set-up of this conference brings together scientists, entrepreneurs, engineers, and students from universities on 7 distinct but well interrelated congresses. The conference concept and the stimulating atmosphere of the historic Old Saint-John's Hospital in Bruges provide a unique opportunity for participants to learn in many ways. By freely attending presentations from the other parallel congresses; Through dedicated key note and invited speakers that provide an overview of the different themes: o Key note lecture by Robert Cervero, University of California, Berkeley, USA;
o Theme 1: Resilience & land use with invited speaker Piet Rietveld (VU University, Amsterdam, The Netherlands);
o Theme 2: E-MOTION;
o Theme 3: Smart & sustainable cities with invited speakers;
AM: Bart Boesmans, (Laborelec, GdF Suez, Belgium);
PM: David Banister, (Unversity of Oxford, UK);
o Theme 4: Impact of Moving with invited speaker François Cuenot, (IEA, France);
o Theme 5: Moving People with invited speaker from UITP, Belgium (speaker TBC);
By being one of the authors of an exciting oral or poster presentation, by encouraging interactive discussions on the integration of the 5 subthemes of this "Transport and Mobility" congress; From other participants during the attractive social program and the other plenary sessions.
